Support is provided by Numerisch – Gesellschaft für digitale Produkte mbH, the developer of Laser Mammoth. No app account is required to request help.

What to include in your request

  • Your Laser Mammoth version and macOS version.
  • The synthesizer model and MIDI interface, if relevant.
  • What you tried, what happened, and any error message. Screenshots are helpful.

If a problem involves a SysEx file, tell us which device profile you selected. Send a sample only if you are comfortable sharing it and have permission to do so.

01 / Getting started

Getting started
on macOS

  1. Open Laser Mammoth → Settings… and add your synthesizer. On a fresh installation, you can also click “Open Settings”.
  2. Select the synthesizer from the Devices menu.
  3. To use hardware, connect the instrument and select its MIDI input and output ports. Follow the device-specific instructions in the app.
  4. To work with a file, choose “Import SysEx”. Imported programs appear in the Clipboard. Move them to the Masterboard by dragging or using “Swap Lists”.
  5. Use “Save a new Bank” to store the Masterboard locally, or “Export SysEx” (“Download SysEx” in some builds) to save a .syx file.

MIDI
troubleshooting

Check that your synthesizer is switched on, the correct ports are selected, and SysEx reception or transmission is enabled on the instrument. Your MIDI interface must support SysEx. Some devices require a manual bank dump instead of “Request Programs”; consult the instructions for your selected profile.

Back up your instrument's sounds before using “Overwrite Program” or “Overwrite Bank”, which can replace sounds stored on the instrument.

03 / Your sound banks

Your local library

Laser Mammoth stores banks locally on your Mac. File → Export Database Backup creates a backup of the local library.
